Full Job Description
Join our Engineering and Design team as a Project Design Engineer with an emphasis on SCADA to work on exciting renewable energy projects across the US. We are growing our team and seeking a skilled engineer for the design and development of systems, panels, components, and equipment (mechanical or electrical) using AutoCAD software.

The Team

You will report to our Manager of Engineering and Design and work in collaboration with a small team of 3-5 engineers. You will also collaborate across the organization with our Systems Integration Engineers, Network Engineers, Project Managers, Production Team, and other stakeholders.

In this role you will build cross-departmental relationships, elevate your knowledge of solar and renewable energy, and work in collaboration with the brightest minds in renewable technology.

Your Key Contributions
  • Develop project/product designs and drawings, maintain revisions, modify as required and ensure all drawings comply with engineering drawing practices, standards and with applicable client or regulatory guidelines;
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects;
  • Read, create, and detail line diagrams and schematics for fabrication;
  • Meet design deadlines and communicate any issues with appropriate parties;
  • Perform engineering calculations such as UPS and battery bank sizing, fiber optic link losses; enclosure heating and air conditioner sizing;
  • Evaluate and specify products to meet the technical requirements of the project;
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications;
  • Create mark-ups to communicate revisions and corrections with CAD designers;
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support;
  • Partner with Trimark's procurement and production departments to create and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) on new/existing drawings.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field
  • At least two years SCADA-related experience and/or training preferred;
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D
  • Understanding of basic AC/DC electrical theory as it relates to design drawing and applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems


Job Level

This position may be filled as a Level 1, 2, 3, or as a Senior depending upon the experience, education, and knowledge of the selected candidate. The posted salary range reflects that spectrum of potential job levels

Physical, Mental & Emotional Requirements

Employee may be required to sit for long periods of time using a keyboard and monitor display, travel to other locations, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to organize and prioritize work in accordance with deadlines, adapt behavior and work methods in response to changing conditions or challenges. Employee will be involved with sustained activity required for analysis, reasoning, and problem solving. Must be able to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships, recognize emotionally charged issues and respond appropriately, act with professionalism, and work both independently and collaboratively. Must be able to function within a work environment that encourages innovation and creative solutions and be able to develop effective working relationships with all levels of the company personnel and outside partners.

Work Environment

The employee will primarily work in a climate-controlled office with occasional fluctuations in temperature. The employee will work at an assigned desk under artificial lighting. The employee may occasionally attend meetings and/or training outside of their assigned workstation. Employee may be required to travel occasionally.
