Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide I&C engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects in our Virginia Beach, VA office. Candidate will serve as the lead I&C engineer on projects for water and wastewater facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system network diagrams, control panel wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation details.
- Supervision and mentorship of less experienced staff
- Coordinating with the other disciplines (process/mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and site civil).
- Performing quality reviews of BIM models, Revit families, and CAD based files used in the production of contract documents.
- Inspection, testing, and approve of I&C work provided by contractors at water and wastewater facilities
Required Qualifications:- Knowledge of water/wastewater or industrial process instrumentation and equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- 7-12 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering and design and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering are required.
Preferred Qualifications:- Multiple years of experience performing I&C design for public sector water/wastewater clients.
- Understanding of processes and equipment for various water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
- PLC/HMI configuration/programming experience.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers, designers, and other staff.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with clients.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
Education Requirements:- BS/BE Engineering
- Must have a PE License, or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
