Job Highlights

  • Safely complete Instrument and Electrical tasks as scheduled or assigned and coordinate Instrument/Electrical jobs with other crafts, work groups and contractors.
  • Plan, install and test according to recognized electrical practices and in compliance with the Ontario Hydro Electrical Standards, within a variety of apparatus, control equipment, wiring and power equipment for light and power systems.
  • Work with Production & Maintenance to obtain, verify, and sign permits.
  • Compliant with site behavioral standards, only the highest ethical and behavioral standards will be maintained on the site. Help build and encourage positive behavior within the group (safety, quality, cleanliness) not accepting mediocrity.
  • Maintain good knowledge of the group backlog and the overall priorities of site teams. Work schedules may include overtime or available on call from time to time and is an expectation for employment.
  • Responsible for craft compliance to all LANXESS Procedures and Standards and providing feedback/review on all I&E Job Plans, Work Procedures, Quality Standards, MI Procedures.
  • Accountable for all Instrument/Electrical deficiencies/findings have a Work Notification and for all I&E Work Histories (complete and turned in on time) including documentation.
  • Attend scheduled meetings providing informative detailed communication to site teams.
  • Maintains ISO 9001 & 14000 calibration verification & documentation.


Additional Job Highlights

  • Work with other maintenance staff to develop short term work plans & PM schedules and with suppliers to obtain part or service quotations.
  • Development of Instrument/Electrical Work Procedures, MI procedures and forms.
  • Assist in development of Instrument/Electrical Skills Matrix.
  • Conduct Mechanical Integrity work as required - in particular the completion of Critical Interlock testing of instrumentation throughout the plant
  • Enter Time Confirmations and Materials against Work Orders on all jobs.
  • Perform other tasks as scheduled or assigned.


Experience / Skills

  • Commitment to Safety Excellence.
  • A valid Ontario Electrician's license (442A Industrial Electrician), (447A Instrumentation and Control Technician) or completion of Instrumentation & Control Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Strong background in Instrumentation in the chemical industry and competent in electrical work as it relates to this environment
  • SAP PM or similar C.M.M.S. combined with strong instrumentation experience
  • Experience with DCS (Delta V) is a considerable asset.
