Activities

  • Manage maintenance projects and capital projects related to instrumentation and control systems improvement, working within the agreed budget and schedule restraints.
  • Ensure that control systems are designed to enhance the operator's ability to maintain safe, stable operation during both normal and abnormal operating circumstances.
  • Participate in the Process Hazard Analysis Steering Committee, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) reviews and provide technical expertise in the management of process hazards.
  • Perform sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells, and other vital instruments.
  • Prepare instrumentation datasheets and maintain an up-to-date instrument list.
  • Assist I&E maintenance technicians in resolving technical problems.
  • Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production.
  • Loss control responsibilities include: Understanding, supporting and compliance with all plant policies, procedures and applicable regulations; conducting applicable Loss Control Challenge activities, including inspections and audits as assigned; completion of assigned Loss Control action items; and completion of regulatory and other required training.
  • Availability responsibilities include: participate in daily Pillar 6 meetings/field tours, participate in any plant rituals and support availability issues of the plant as assigned, participate, manage, and organize monthly AITs, support creation of AIPs, participate in vulnerability studies.
  • Reports to the Superintendent - I&E. 5 hourly direct reports.


Candidate Profile

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering or equivalent experience in an Instrument Engineering role.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience.
  • Instrument Engineering experience preferred
