This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.
In this role, you will support the development of training curriculum for Genoa Healthcare. Genoa is a business within OptumRx that serves behavioral health and addiction treatment communities. The Genoa team partners with community-based providers and others to ensure that people with complex health conditions get the right medication and are able to follow their treatment plans. The individual hired to this position will support the design and development of innovative learning solutions support pharmacy operations and organizational goals. This role will also support the development of content to drive performance improvement of front-line staff. You will consult and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) within operations as well as peers across the Optum Learning Solutions This role requires expertise in instructional design models, adult learning theory, and modern learning technologies, including virtual training to create impactful training experiences that drive performance and compliance.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:- Learning Needs Analysis
- Collaborate with SMEs, managers, trainers, and stakeholders to identify business goals and performance gaps.
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather data on learning needs.
- Perform task and skills analysis to define required competencies.
- Recommend training and non-training interventions based on gap analysis.
- Instructional Design & Development
- Define learning objectives and design course structures using ADDIE or similar models.
- Develop engaging eLearning (Articulate Storyline, Rise), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), and hybrid learning solutions.
- Create assessments, job aids, facilitation guides, and multimedia content.
- Apply accessibility standards (ADA Section 508, WCAG compliance).
- Integrate courses into LMS (SCORM packaging, navigation rules, progress tracking).
- Virtual Training Expertise
- Development of virtual learning experiences using platforms like Zoom, Teams, or similar.
- Incorporate interactive elements such as breakout rooms, polls, and simulations to enhance engagement.
- Develop strategies for blended learning and virtual onboarding programs.
- Quality Assurance & Evaluation
- Conduct alpha/beta testing of courses and pathways.
- Gather user feedback and revise content for accuracy and engagement.
- Use LMS analytics and learner data to measure effectiveness and business impact.
- Collaboration & Consulting
- Partner with trainers and cross-functional teams to align learning solutions with operational goals.
- Support revision/redesign of existing training programs.

Required Qualifications:- High School Diploma / GED
- Must have a certification in ATD Instructional Design Certificate, CPTD, Certified Professional in Talent Development, ATD Articulate Storyline Certificate, Articulate Storyline or Rise Certificate Program
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 4+ years of experience working in an instructional design role
- Experience with LMS platforms and SCORM integration
- Expertise in virtual training design and delivery
- Understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models
- Proficiency in eLearning tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Replay, Peek)

Preferred Qualifications:- Healthcare or pharmacy operations experience
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory training
- Graphic design or multimedia development skills
- Time management, organizational, and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills and drives for results individually and in a team setting

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
