The Job

The Instructional Designer II is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality training programs and materials for employees and operations teams. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging and effective learning experiences that enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce, ultimately improving the quality of service provided to Medicare insurance consumers. The Instructional Designer II will ensure that all training aligns with the company's goals and regulatory requirements.

You Will
  • Training Needs Analysis: Conduct in-depth training needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and skills among employees and operations teams. Collaborate with department heads and SMEs to define training requirements and objectives.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive training curricula, including detailed course outlines, lesson plans, and learning objectives. Create a variety of training materials, such as presentations, handouts, videos, and interactive modules, ensuring they are aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging and interactive training content that is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with Medicare regulations and company policies. Utilize multimedia and technology to enhance the learning experience and make training more accessible.
  • Technology Utilization: Proficiently use learning management systems (LMS) and other technology tools to deliver and manage training programs. Stay current with the latest instructional design trends and technologies to continuously improve training methods.
  • Program Implementation: Coordinate the delivery of training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and facilitation. Conduct training sessions, both in-person and online, to ensure consistent and high-quality instruction. Provide guidance and support to junior instructional designers and trainers.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through pre- and post-training assessments, surveys, and feedback. Analyze evaluation results to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations. Continuously refine and update training materials based on feedback and changing regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure training programs meet the needs of all stakeholders. Communicate training plans, progress, and outcomes to management and other relevant parties. Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather input and feedback from SMEs and learners.

Your Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience as an Instructional Designer ideally with a health plan or healthcare organization.
  • Instructional Design: Strong proficiency in instructional design principles and methodologies to create effective and engaging training materials.
  • Content Creation: Ability to develop a wide range of training content, including multimedia and interactive elements.
  • Technology Proficiency: Advanced skills in using LMS platforms, authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), and other e-learning technologies. Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Teams), and Visio is required.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Medicare regulations and compliance requirements to ensure training materials are accurate and compliant.
