Job DescriptionWe are seeking to hire an Instructional Designerto join a high-performing training team responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining certification-focused technical training programs for adult learners supporting enterprise server, network, and platform environments.
The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, technical subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, training developers, technical writers, and program stakeholders to create instructor-led, virtual, web-based, and blended learning solutions. This role requires expertise in instructional systems design, technical content development, adult learning principles, and enterprise IT technologies.
The Instructional Designer will analyze technical systems, engineering documentation, operational procedures, and performance requirements to develop effective learning solutions that prepare learners to install, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise infrastructure and supporting technologies.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, develop, implement, and maintain instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), web-based training (WBT), and blended learning solutions.
- Develop technical training content supporting enterprise server, network, platform administration, and infrastructure operations.
- Conduct learning needs assessments, task analyses, and audience analyses to identify performance and training requirements.
- Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, and technical stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into learner-centered training solutions.
- Develop lesson plans, instructor guides, student guides, laboratory exercises, job aids, assessments, performance support tools, and reference materials.
- Facilitate technical training programs in classroom, virtual, and blended learning environments.
- Apply instructional design methodologies and competency-based learning principles throughout the training lifecycle.
- Conduct training effectiveness evaluations and analyze assessment data, learner feedback, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Support course validation, pilot deliveries, quality assurance reviews, configuration management, and content updates.
- Develop, maintain, and update Web-Based Courseware Instruction (WCI) products and associated instructional documentation.
- Partner with technical writers, web content managers, and program support personnel to maintain training products and knowledge resources.
- Ensure training content remains aligned with evolving technologies, operational requirements, certification objectives, and organizational standards.
- Manage multiple concurrent training development efforts while meeting project schedules and deliverables.

Required Skills and Education- Must currently possess a TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Education, Curriculum Development, Technical Communication, Learning Technologies, or a related discipline.
- 5-7+ years of experience in instructional systems design, curriculum development, technical training development, or technical training delivery.
- Experience designing and developing technical training solutions for enterprise IT systems, networking technologies, server platforms, or related technology environments.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Experience developing instructor-led, virtual, and web-based training products.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools.
- Strong technical writing, editing, and content development skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical SMEs, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
MDOPS
Preferred Skills and Education- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Adult Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), Federal Government, or contractor training programs.
- Experience developing and delivering hands-on technical training for enterprise IT environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including firewalls, load balancers, IDS/NIDS, NAT, PAT, VLANs, ACLs, and cloud networking architectures.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise servers, systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Experience managing training development projects through the full instructional systems development lifecycle (ADDIE or equivalent).
- Experience developing technical publications, user guides, operational procedures, requirements documentation, and training manuals.
- Experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalent learning development tools.
- Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, multimedia development, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization technologies, cybersecurity concepts, and modern data center environments.
