Job Summary: The Senior Inspector is responsible for conducting receiving and/or final inspection for products received and produced by Forj Medical in compliance with governing Quality Management System processes. This role will be responsible for collaborating with engineers and buyers to define and resolve technical issues associated to Forj Medical received and produced products. Lastly, this role supports all aspects of the organization and will support or lead (as assigned) continuous improvement initiatives related to improving the compliance of our systems or processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinate and prioritize the flow of products and parts through production
- Perform in-coming inspection of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using established documentation and guidelines with associated PC data entry
- Perform inspection of parts received by Forj Medical
- Perform inspection of parts and devices produced by Forj Medical
- Ensure all testing equipment is current and up to date
- Document part inspection results into electronic database system
- Collaborate with buyers and engineers to resolve technical part issues
- Maintain relevant competence in inspection techniques and equipment
- Serve as a technical resource to peers to establish standards of work within the group
- Collaborate with Purchasing and/or Engineering to help resolve supplier non-conformances
- Provide training or direct activities of junior inspectors
- Act as the go-to-person when implementing new projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required
- 7+ years of experience with the inspection of Medical Device or another highly regulated industry
- Preferred Certifications and Trainings:
- Certified Lean Practitioner
- Certified Training to IPC 610
- Certified Training to IPC 620
- Professional Training in Lean Six Sigma
- Technician certification training in electrical and/or mechanical standards required with experience in the following disciplines:
- Vision system based dimensional inspection of mechanical features
- CMM system based dimensional inspection of mechanical features
- Microscope and/or aided visual inspection of parts
- Visual inspection of textured and/or painted parts
- Use of calibrated inspection hand tools (pin gages, micrometers, etc.)
- Technical writing of issues to clearly define the problem discovered
- Demonstrated expertise in the use and navigation of electronic based inspection processes and systems within a regulated industry
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry with quality system compliance requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suites
