About the Position: Serves as Assistance & Investigations (A&I) Chief at Detroit Arsenal, Warren Michigan.

Duties

Help

• Directs the team by assigning, identifying, distributing, and balancing workload among employees in accordance with CIG guidance, skill level, specialties, and command priorities.
• Advises the team on law, rules, and regulations to protect legal rights of witnesses and on procedural matters to assure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations to ensure the validity of the IG process.
• Leads investigations into the allegations of fraud, waste, misuse, or other forms of noncompliance directed by the commanding general, or higher IG authorities.
• Develops and implements investigation plans and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in investigative work.
• Leads inspections as directed by the CG and CIG by properly following the three inspection phases: preparation, execution, and completion, and by strictly executing the 17-step inspection process.
• Reviews and analyzes organizational policies, guidance, methodology, systems, procedures, and results pertaining to efficiency, effectiveness, economy of operation, and state of discipline and morale.
• Performs teaching and training Teaches and trains Commanders, Soldiers, and Civilians at all levels on current Army policy and doctrine.as both an embedded (inspections, assistance, and investigations) and independent function.

• This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
• A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigation that includes, but is not limited to, contact with all references, employers, personal associates, and a review of your driving record, etc.
• Applicants are required to maintain certification in accordance with AR 20-1 Inspector General Activities and Procedures; and practice IG attributes as mandatory requirements for continued employment as an army IG.
• Any serious criminal activity, to include drug use, will result in the immediate removal of an employee from IG duty and loss of access to IGARS and IGNET.
• Applicants will be subject to a database check against the Army's IGARS database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigations.
• Must have no record of criminal punishment except for minor offenses or derogatory information contained in IG records as screened by the USAIGA
• Must be a citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization.
• One year supervisory probation period may be required.
• Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 15%.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting investigations or inquiries to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations; 2) Analyzing reports and supporting documentation involving critical and sensitive issues/cases ensuring technical compliance; and 3) Preparing case summaries and briefing appropriate personnel/directorates/offices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service. (NH-03/GS13)

Education
