Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inspection Advisor III to serve as a Quality Lead in the New Mexico area. This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

The ideal candidate brings extensive oil & gas or EPC experience, strong leadership capabilities, and deep technical knowledge across multiple inspection disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and reinforce a strong culture of safety within all quality activities
  • Lead and coordinate a team of third-party QA/QC inspectors to ensure work is performed in accordance with specifications and industry standards
  • Manage and control quality assurance costs and resources effectively
  • Welding
  • Coatings
  • Civil works
  • Piping and pressure vessels
  • Tank fabrication
  • Equipment installation
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Advise leadership on all quality-related matters throughout engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases
  • Mentor, train, and support contractors and suppliers to improve quality control and inspection practices
  • Proactively manage conflict within QA teams and promote a collaborative, solutions-driven environment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project supervisors and management teams
  • Implement and drive quality improvement initiatives across project operations
  • Support internal development and enhancement of QA processes and procedures
  • Coordinate effectively with suppliers, contractors, QA teams, reliability teams, and project stakeholders
  • Review and ensure accuracy of contractor and supplier quality documentation

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Inspection within oil & gas or EPC environments
  • Current or previous certification as an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQOE) is highly preferred (or commitment to obtain certification within 12 months of hire).
  • Current or previous certification(s) in Non-Destructive testing techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards : ASME, API, AWS, NACE, ACI
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness and ability to travel to field and fabrication shop locations as needed
  • Current or previous certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is preferred.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
