Overview

The Technical Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting revenue growth and customer retention within an assigned portfolio of existing customers by delivering technical sales support, estimating services, proposal development, and account management for electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, engineering, transformer, and grid equipment. This role serves as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring exceptional service, identifying additional service opportunities, and supporting long-term customer relationships.

 

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually with a bonus plan tied to sales volume and job margin.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with assigned customers, serving as their primary point of contact for service inquiries, quotations, and project opportunities.
  • Consult with customers to understand operational needs and develop solutions involving testing, commissioning, engineering, maintenance, transformer, and related electrical services.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and proposals by reviewing requests for proposals (RFPs), specifications, drawings, blueprints, and other project documentation.
  • Analyze labor, material, equipment, and time requirements to develop competitive pricing, project budgets, and service proposals.
  • Present proposals and estimates through written and verbal communications, including customer meetings and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings within existing customer accounts and support customer retention and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with operations, administrative personnel, field teams, and management to ensure accurate proposals, successful project execution, and timely customer billing.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of electrical testing and maintenance services, including high-, medium-, and low-voltage systems, protection and control equipment, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and related apparatus.
  • Monitor customer needs, market conditions, and service trends to proactively address client requirements and identify opportunities for additional support.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, and industry partners while upholding the organization's commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to team objectives and overall business performance through collaboration, continuous improvement, and effective execution of sales, estimating, and account management responsibilities.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience in technical sales, estimating, account management, or customer support within the electrical services industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, engineering, and substation services.
  • Understanding of electrical apparatus, including transformers, breakers, switchgear, and protection and control systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and profit/loss considerations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong safety-first mindset.
