The ideal candidate brings extensive large loss property experience and can independently handle complex claims involving fire, wind, hail, catastrophe, and other major property damage events. This is a fully remote position with no field inspections required. Physical inspections are completed through independent adjusters, contractors, and other third-party partners, while you manage the overall claim strategy, coverage analysis, estimate review, negotiation, and resolution.

  • This role will support claims primarily across the Western region.
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex homeowners property claims involving significant damages and exposures.
  • Manage large loss claims resulting from fire, weather events, catastrophes, and other major property losses.
  • Determine coverage, evaluate damages, and issue claim decisions within established authority levels.
  • Review contractor and independent adjuster estimates for accuracy, scope, and appropriateness of repair recommendations.
  • Utilize Xactimate estimates and supporting documentation to assess damages and identify discrepancies or opportunities for clarification.
  • Manage claim authority requests and effectively document claim rationale for elevated approvals.
  • Handle additional living expense (ALE) and personal property exposures as part of complex homeowner claims.
  • Collaborate with contractors, mitigation vendors, independent adjusters, legal partners, and internal stakeholders to drive claims toward resolution.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced claims professionals.
  • Maintain strong customer communication while managing claims that may remain open for extended periods due to the complexity of repairs and reconstruction efforts.

Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive experience handling large loss residential property claims, typically exceeding $100,000.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction, repair processes, and property damage assessment.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Xactimate estimates.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex files simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling catastrophe-related property claims.
  • Background managing fire, wind, hail, wildfire, or severe weather-related losses.
  • Previous experience working with contractors, independent adjusters, and restoration vendors.
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or peer coaching experience.
