Full Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Inside Broker to join our remote South Florida-based team and support the placement of commercial casualty business. This role is ideal for an insurance professional with strong casualty expertise who enjoys working closely with retail agents, underwriters, and internal brokers to deliver creative placement solutions and exceptional service.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical casualty resource, evaluating submissions, identifying exposures, marketing accounts, negotiating terms, and driving placements from submission through binding. This individual should be highly organized, relationship-oriented, and comfortable exercising independent judgment when evaluating risk and carrier fit.

This is a fast-paced role requiring strong coverage knowledge, attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high level of service to both retail partners and carrier markets.

What will your job entail?

Risk Evaluation & Market Placement
  • Review and evaluate casualty submissions to identify key exposures, coverage needs, and placement opportunities.
  • Analyze risks and develop effective marketing strategies to secure competitive coverage solutions.
  • Determine appropriate carrier and wholesale market options based on risk characteristics, underwriting appetite, and client needs.
  • Prepare and market submissions to carriers, ensuring complete and accurate information is presented.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage enhancements with carrier partners.
  • Present and explain coverage options, exclusions, and recommendations to retail brokers and internal stakeholders.
Broker & Carrier Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted resource to retail agents, providing technical guidance and market insight throughout the placement process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters and key market partners.
  • Act as a liaison between retail brokers and insurance markets to ensure timely communication and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, brokers, and support staff to ensure a seamless client experience.
Account Management & Execution
  • Manage opportunities from submission through quote, binding, and policy issuance.
  • Ensure all documentation, correspondence, and transaction details are accurately maintained within agency management systems.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities with carriers and brokers to maintain momentum and achieve service expectations.
  • Assist with renewals, remarketing efforts, and account retention strategies.
Technical Expertise & Business Growth
  • Maintain strong knowledge of casualty products, market trends, underwriting appetite, and carrier capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve coverage placement, grow relationships, and expand existing business.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members when appropriate.
  • Participate in continuing education, licensing, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of wholesale brokerage, underwriting, or commercial casualty insurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of casualty coverages, including General Liability, Excess Liability/Umbrella, Products Liability, and other complex casualty risks.
  • Experience marketing accounts and negotiating directly with underwriters and carrier partners.
  • Ability to independently analyze risks and make sound placement recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • State Property & Casualty License and/or Surplus Lines License.
Preferred
  • Wholesale brokerage experience within E&S or specialty casualty markets.
  • Experience handling middle-market or complex casualty placements.
  • Established carrier relationships within casualty markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, or CRIS.

The target salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
