What We OfferThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry with a focus on providing high-quality psychiatric services in an acute behavioral health setting. This position will float between our 62-bed adult inpatient unit and the emergency department.
Opportunity Highlights:Inpatient Unit Responsibilities:- The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be caring for assigned patients on our 62-bed adult unit
- Opportunity for either 7 on/ 7 off schedule or five days a week
- Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
- Psychiatrists will have access to a full spectrum of care options, including ECT, for individuals with treatment-resistant mood and psychotic disorders
Emergency Department Responsibilities:- The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be caring for approximately 8-12 patients a day
- Opportunity for either a 7 on / 7 off schedule or five days a week
- Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
- Psychiatrists will have access to a full spectrum of care options, including ECT, for individuals with treatment-resistant mood and psychotic disorders
- Ability to teach Novant Health Psychiatric Residents
Candidate Qualifications:- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
Responsibilities & Duties:- Patient population: 18+ for acute care, potential to consult on those below 18 when needed
- Complete daily rounding and timely documentation on assigned patients
- Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary treatment team that includes providers, nursing, therapy and support staff
- Provide supervision and mentorship of psychiatric residents and medical students
