About the Position

The Innovation Strategist identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging capabilities, technologies, and innovative solutions that advance the Assessor's Office's strategic priorities and continuous improvement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Administration, this position partners with business leaders across the organization to lead process improvement initiatives, drive innovation, and enhance operational effectiveness. The Innovation Strategist fosters a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement by encouraging staff to embrace new ideas, solve problems, and adopt innovative approaches that deliver meaningful value to customers, stakeholders, and employees.

  • Three years of managing projects that focus on process improvement initiatives or IT related projects that require the support of technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or Public Administration or related field
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

  • Build and manage an innovation pipeline by evaluating and prioritizing ideas and initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic plans, operational goals, and customer service objectives.
  • Collaborate with business units and senior leadership to develop, pilot, implement, launch, and scale innovation initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support enterprise technology initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and cross-functional process improvement projects.
  • Support change management efforts by partnering with business units to develop and implement communication, training, and adoption strategies for new processes, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Facilitate training sessions and collaborative workshops with business units to identify improvement opportunities, strengthen organizational capabilities, and promote innovation.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the outcomes of innovation initiatives using performance measures to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Establish team goals, work plans, and performance metrics aligned with organizational priorities and the department's strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee team performance, resource allocation, and workload planning to ensure high-quality analytical deliverables and the timely execution of process improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Mentor technical and business staff in methodologies, communication techniques, workflow tools, documentation practices, and other competencies that strengthen organizational performance and innovation capabilities.
