The Infrastructure Systems Engineer supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and improvement of engineering development and reference infrastructure and is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure systems supporting large-scale mail, parcel, and logistics operations. This role focuses on non-production systems and networks used by engineering teams and works under general direction from senior engineers or infrastructure leadership. The position requires hands-on experience across networking, virtualization, Windows servers, backups, and hardware, with regular collaboration with development and DevOps teams.
Your role in our team- You will administer and support engineering LAN environments, including VLANs, routing, NAT, and subnetting.
- You will configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers using CLI.
- You will manage firewall configurations and security policies for development networks.
- You will administer Windows Server systems and support VMware vSphere/ESXi and Hyper-V environments.
- You will monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual and physical infrastructure.
- You will manage backup operations and support recovery activities.
- You will install and maintain HP and Dell server hardware.
- You will collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to provision systems and resolve infrastructure issues.
- You will create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Your profile- You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- You have 3-6+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or network engineering.
- You have hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- You have strong proficiency with VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
- You have proven experience with LAN/WAN networking, Cisco CLI, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
- You have knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- You have scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- You have experience supporting engineering, development, or non-production environments.
- You have the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and collaborate effectively with DevOps or engineering teams.
- You have strong communication skills and take ownership of systems reliability, documentation, and uptime.
