  • Administer both physical and virtual servers, covering maintenance and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain a test lab to support production configurations for testing and training.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across clusters, servers, and applications; coordinate multi-team resolutions.

Job Description

Team SAIC is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Infrastructure System Administrator to join our team at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The candidate will be responsible for designing, building, operating, and sustaining highly available server environments. The position oversees InfoScale cluster deployments, failover and recovery capabilities, and enterprise server administration.

Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize the work of infrastructure engineers supporting high-availability, server, and lab environments.
  • Plan, build, configure, and maintain InfoScale clusters supporting key strategic partners in the NCR.
  • Develop, execute, document, and improve failover, failback, disaster-recovery, and continuity procedures.
  • Manage physical and virtual servers, including operating-system administration, patching, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and lifecycle replacement.
  • Operate and maintain a test lab that mirrors relevant production configurations for integration testing, troubleshooting, validation, and training.
  • Troubleshoot complex cluster, server, storage, network, and application-availability issues; coordinate resolution across infrastructure and application teams.
  • Maintain system diagrams, build guides, standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, recovery runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Track system health, availability, vulnerabilities, patch status, incidents, and corrective actions; provide status and risk reporting to leadership.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, storage, application, vendor, and program stakeholders to meet availability and operational requirements.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and fifteen (15) years or more Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
  • 5 years of relevant systems administration experience
  • Ability to work on site five days per week during day-shift hours.
  • This position requires an active DOD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Active DoD 8570.01-M/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, etc.) is required prior to start.
  • Active DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification
  • Experience leading infrastructure, systems administration, platform engineering, or operations teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Veritas InfoScale/Cluster Server or comparable high-availability clustering technologies.
  • Strong background in Linux and/or Windows server administration, virtualization, storage, networking, and enterprise monitoring.
  • Experience planning and executing cluster builds, maintenance, failover testing, and recovery operations.
  • Strong written communication skills for technical documentation, status reporting, and leadership briefings.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification
  • Experience leading infrastructure, systems administration, platform engineering, or operations teams.
