Full Job Description
THE WORK:
• You'll lead the scheduling and coordination of complex product movements across pipelines, rail, terminals, storage locations, refineries, and limited truck transportation.
• You'll manage high-value or operationally sensitive scheduling portfolios involving multiple products, locations, contracts, and transportation constraints.
• You'll review supply plans, inventory positions, transportation capacity, refinery requirements, and commercial commitments to identify execution risks.
• Ensure transportation nominations, confirmations, changes, and related communications are completed within required operating windows.
• You'll advise traders and supply optimizers on transportation feasibility, inventory limitations, timing considerations, and operational alternatives.
• You'll lead the resolution of pipeline outages, terminal restrictions, inventory imbalances, quality concerns, carrier delays, and other supply disruptions.
• You'll coordinate recovery plans with commercial teams, refineries, terminals, carriers, pipeline operators, and other relevant parties.
• You'll evaluate scheduling decisions against contractual terms, regulatory requirements, operating procedures, and internal control expectations.
• You'll serve as an escalation point for junior and associate schedulers on complex operational or commercial issues.
• You'll provide technical coaching, job guidance, and practical training to less-experienced scheduling personnel.
• You'll review scheduling work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with established procedures.
• You'll help develop or refine scheduling playbooks, desk procedures, escalation protocols, handoff requirements, and coverage models.
• You'll identify opportunities to improve transportation utilization, inventory efficiency, scheduling accuracy, and supply reliability.
• You'll analyze recurring operational issues and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
• You'll support business continuity planning, cross-training, and knowledge transfer across scheduling desks.
• You'll partner with process, technology, and operational teams on future workflow improvements, automation, digital tools, and process simplification.

Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

Expected duration: 12 months, with potential extension to 18 months.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in fuels, crude oil, NGL, refined products, ethanol, petrochemical, or bulk liquids scheduling and logistics
• Demonstrated experience managing pipeline nominations, transportation schedules, inventory balances, and supply execution activities and strong working knowledge of pipeline, terminal, refinery, storage, rail, or related energy logistics operations
• Experience working directly with traders, commercial teams, supply optimizers, refineries, terminals, pipeline operators, and carriers
• Proven ability to resolve complex operational issues under tight scheduling deadlines
• Ability to assess operational and commercial tradeoffs and communicate recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and working knowledge of transportation agreements, scheduling requirements, operating procedures, regulatory considerations, and internal controls
• Demonstrated ability to coach or mentor schedulers and promote consistent execution across a team with advanced organizational, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work on-site in Houston and support U.S. Central Time business hours

BONUS POINTS TO HAVE:
• 10 or more years of relevant scheduling, logistics, or supply operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, business, economics, or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience may be considered
• Proven experience managing multiple commodities, scheduling locations, or transportation modes as well as advanced knowledge of regulated pipeline nomination cycles and scheduling windows
• Experience with SAP, pipeline scheduling platforms, terminal systems, and client designated operating systems
• Previous experience with the end client or another large integrated energy company, experience supporting the startup, transition, or stabilization of a scheduling organization
• Experience developing procedures, training materials, operational controls, or scheduler qualification programs
• Exposure to process automation, workflow tools, bots, artificial intelligence applications, or supply chain optimization initiatives

$150,000 - $180,000 a year

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia or Washington as set forth below.
