Position Description:

Accelerate infrastructure delivery through automation by designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality, and reduce manual effort. Partner with engineering, operations, and client teams to build scalable, secure, and reliable automation capabilities that enable faster service delivery, continuous improvement, and exceptional client outcomes.

Location: Anywhere in Canada within proximity to a CGI office
Work Model: Hybrid (minimum three days per week in the office)
Work Schedule: Standard eight-hour workday
Travel: No travel required
While this role follows a standard eight-hour workday, occasional after-hours, evening, or weekend work may be required to support project deliverables, implementations, or operational needs

Your future duties and responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure and Automation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, consistency, reliability, and service quality across complex IT environments.

Working closely with infrastructure, operations, DevOps, and engineering teams, the Infrastructure Automation Engineer will lead the end to end delivery of automation services, leveraging industry standard tools and best practices to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment pipelines, and operational workflows.
Experience within the financial services industry is considered a strong asset.
. Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise automation solutions aligned with organizational automation standards and best practices.
. Deliver end to end automation services covering requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and operational support.
. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible and associated automation technologies.
. Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Pipelines to support automated software and infrastructure deployments.
. Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, and Shell scripting to streamline operational processes and improve service delivery.
. Integrate automation solutions with ITSM and operational workflows while supporting ITIL aligned service management processes.
. Manage source code repositories, version control, collaborative development practices , and Jenkins pipeline interaction using GitHub.
. Implement secure automation practices by integrating enterprise secrets management solutions such as HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, and Ansible Vault.
. Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify automation opportunities and continuously improve operational efficiency.
. Support automation troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ongoing optimization of automation platforms.
. Produce high quality technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
. Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend continuous improvements to tooling and delivery practices through demonstrations, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
. Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Automation, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
. Strong understanding of enterprise automation methodologies and automation lifecycle management.
. Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise scale automation solutions from concept through production deployment.
. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross functional teams.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000-$125,000. This role is an existing vacancy
