Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Developing system security plans, baseline security information, and system inventories, as well as subject matter expertise in privacy impact analysis, risk assessments, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for IT programs.
  • Developing systems security contingency plans, architecture design, and disaster recovery procedures for IT Programs and Infrastructure.
  • Analyzing short-, medium- and long-range projects for solutions of complex operational or policy issues.
  • Assisting with identifying and mitigating emerging vulnerabilities and developing countermeasures to protect sensitive information processed on organization IT systems.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications: Applicants for the 2210 Information Technology Management series at the GS-13 grade level must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Assisting in developing policies, procedures, standards, and standard operations procedures (SOPs) to ensure information systems are developed and managed in accordance with Federal Information Security Modernization Act's (FISMA) confidentiality, integrity, and availability requirements.
  • Designing, developing, and/or managing systems that meet current and future requirements and enhance or optimize the existing architecture.
  • Evaluating new technologies and makes substantiated recommendations and/or business cases for implementation and adoption by the enterprise.
