About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center seeking a highly experienced Systems Administrator to serve as a cornerstone of the organization's IT operations. In this role, the incumbent will serve as the customer technical support specialist, planning and carrying out difficult and complex assignments in the delivery of customer support services. The individual will provide ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of hardware, software, systems, and programs to preclude undue interruptions to IT services. This position is an NH-2210-03 to work for 96 TSSQ/RNXI at Eglin AFB, Florida.
Provides advanced IT customer support for hardware, software, systems, and applications; diagnoses and resolves complex incidents; installs, configures, maintains, and modifies IT equipment and systems; develops support procedures, metrics, and training; manages IT equipment lifecycle, technology refresh, and related purchase documentation; and ensures cybersecurity requirements are incorporated into customer support services. Serves as the Range Group cybersecurity liaison and subject-matter expert. Administers the Computer Security (COMPUSEC) program; develops and implements cybersecurity policies and procedures; manages user and privileged accounts; assesses system risks and vulnerabilities; ensures compliance with applicable DoD and Air Force cybersecurity requirements; coordinates with the Wing Cybersecurity Office; and supports inspections, account reviews, data-loss prevention, media sanitization, and security authorization activities. Administers the Range Group TEMPEST program by preparing required documentation, conducting inspections of classified processing areas, coordinating requirements and waivers with the Wing Cybersecurity Office, and ensuring approved countermeasures are implemented and maintained. Serves as the Communications Security (COMSEC) Responsible Officer.
Serves as a senior cybersecurity advisor to management, supporting special projects, risk assessments, and strategic planning efforts to strengthen the organization's information security posture.

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,508-$138,370 per year based on experience (includes locality)
If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected
Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

The employee will be required to obtain and maintain IAT Level II certification to meet the DoD Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program baseline certification requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
Desired Skills:
Experience providing system administration for a diverse range of devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices (cell phones, tablets/iPads), physical servers, and virtual servers.
Experience with TACLANES/KGs and upgrading them.
Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SharePoint, and the Office 365 enterprise suite.
Major Duties:
Provides advanced technical assistance for customer hardware, software, systems, and applications; diagnoses and resolves complex incidents; and documents solutions to minimize service interruptions.
Installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots, and modifies customer hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and desktop configurations.
Analyzes service-request and incident trends; evaluates customer support effectiveness; and recommends improved tools, methods, procedures, standards, and performance metrics.
Supports IT equipment lifecycle management, technology refresh planning, maintenance planning, budget justification, purchase requests, and statements of work.
Provides customer training and technical guidance on operating systems, databases, applications, file-access systems, backup and recovery processes, and other IT services.
Administers the Range Group Computer Security program and develops, implements, and advises on cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and security requirements.
Assesses system risks and vulnerabilities; supports security testing and authorization activities; manages user and privileged accounts; and ensures compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
Administers the Range Group TEMPEST program by preparing documentation, inspecting classified processing areas, coordinating requirements, and implementing approved countermeasures.
Maintains accountability and inventory of COMSEC material; performs receipt, issue, transfer, destruction, inspection, and incident-reporting actions; and ensures required personnel training is current.
Serves as a senior cybersecurity advisor to management and supports special projects, risk assessments, committees, and strategic planning efforts to improve information system security.

- Ability to analyze higher-level policies, principles, and IT cybersecurity concepts and to make effective recommendations to ensure standards are met.
-Ability to serve as the focal point for IT and cybersecurity, providing authoritative advice and assistance on complex, technical, controversial, and precedent settling matters to improve the IT cybersecurity program comprising many unique organizations and large, complex computer and communications cybersecurity systems involving both classified and unclassified materials.
-Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of network problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate systems and computer applications from an operational perspective.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain IAT Level II certification such as Comptia Security+
Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes Information Assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
