Information Technology - Software Engineer | Palmdale, California, United States Information Technology - Software Engineer Location: Palmdale, CA, 93599, United States About the Role Join our innovative Vehicle Management Software team as a Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of next-generation aircraft. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle for advanced aviation platforms in a dynamic, Agile environment. Collaborate with industry leaders and expand your expertise in embedded, flight-critical software development. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and implement embedded software for current and future vehicle management systems. - Lead requirements generation, system/software design, integration, and flight testing activities. - Collaborate within an Agile software team to deliver high-quality, reliable code. - Integrate software with various host systems, including live assets, simulators, and lab environments. - Support avionics services, including ground station and mission systems software development. - Present technical concepts and results clearly to internal stakeholders. - Adapt to evolving project needs in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 5+ years recent experience with C (7+ years embedded C++ acceptable). - Minimum 5+ years recent experience with Linux. - Minimum 5+ years recent embedded systems software development experience. - 3+ years experience with Git and Agile tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, etc.). - 2-3 years experience with Python. - Strong background in Systems Engineering practices. - Demonstrated ability integrating hardware and software. - Proven experience in an Agile development environment. - Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Preferred Skills - Experience with RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems). - Familiarity with automated test methodologies. - Knowledge of networking protocols (IP, UDP, RTP). - Background in Vehicle Management System (VMS) architectures. - Experience with safety/flight-critical software processes (MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01). - Ability to foster effective collaboration and maintain strong professional relationships.
