Full Job Description
The Village is seeking an experienced Information Technology Director to provide strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise for all aspects of the organization's technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, and digital initiatives.

This position requires a unique blend of executive leadership and technical proficiency. The successful candidate will not only lead and mentor IT staff, but will also participate in the day-to-day work of the department.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a municipal IT environment
  • Demonstrated experience performing the day-to-day technical work of an IT department while also managing staff and operations
  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategic technology plans
  • Experience presenting and communicating with executive leadership, elected officials, governing boards, and department directors
  • Strong knowledge of: server and cloud technologies, vendor management, cybersecurity, network administration, and budgeting
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Public Administration

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $129,302 - $158,330 depending on qualifications. The Village provides a comprehensive benefits package, including IMRF pension plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, 457 retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
