Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Information Technology/Assurance Specialist - I to join our team in El Segundo, CA.

The primary function of the Information Technology/Assurance Specialist - I is to work within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting SSC and AFSPC Operational Units. The position will provide "day-to-day" support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. This is a five-day a week in the office role in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for assigned computer systems.
  • Maintain file servers, Firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems, and system documentation as required.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
  • Review, prepare, and update AIS accreditation packages while performing self-inspections and identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Perform VTC System Administration, Scheduling, & Configuration along with account administration and Help Desk troubleshooting.
  • Perform Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades, modifications, and provide Personal-Issue Laptop Support.
  • Manage Media Control & Accountability and perform COMSEC account/equipment management. Familiarity with security policy/manuals, appropriate ICDs/JAFANs/DoD Manuals, and the ability to interact effectively with DoD, military, civilian, and industry partners.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent additional experience (4 years).
  • 2+ years of total related experience, including a minimum of 2 years of relevant SCI or SAP experience (minimum 1 year of SAP related experience highly desired).
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security).
  • Must complete training on Joint Security Implementation Guidance (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) if required by the supported organization.
  • Must possess applicable Windows professional certifications based on OS requirements for the supported organization.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Windows desktop operating systems administration and associated hardware.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, data backup technologies, and communication security (COMSEC) integration.
  • Working knowledge of JAFAN 6/0, DCID/JAFAN 6/3, DCID/JAFAN 6/9, Joint DODIIS/Cryptologic SCI Information Systems Security Standards, and System Security Policy for C&A legacy systems.
  • Working knowledge and current relevant experience with PL1 & PL2 systems, with PL3 & PL4 cross domain solutions experience desired.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Must maintain eligibility for access to Special Access Programs.
  • Must have a willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility via air and ground transportation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This position operates on a regular schedule from approximately 0730 to 1630 in a closed-area office setting with no telework options, where you may remain stationary for periods or move inside and outside the office to access files, safes, and install equipment.


The projected compensation range for this position is $91,600.00-$153,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
