Information Technologist IV - Digital Trainer

Location: Fort Lee, VA
Clearance: Active Secret (Required)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Join a mission-critical team supporting CASCOM G-6 by maintaining and enhancing Army Digital Training systems across multiple schools and environments. This role ensures training systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure remain fully operational, directly enabling classroom instruction, simulations, and mission readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain current operating systems, applications, and Digital Training systems across enterprise and classroom environments
  • Provide systems analysis, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex training systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Serve as the G-6 point of contact for Logistics Information Systems (LIS), including GCSS-Army, Mission Command systems, and other training platforms
  • Support Program of Instruction (POI) training systems, including system setup, configuration, modification, and sustainment
  • Develop and execute Software Qualification Tests (SQT) and Software Acceptance Tests (SAT) in support of training system updates and modifications
  • Perform technical analysis and documentation of system changes, ensuring compliance with design specifications, COOP requirements, and operational standards
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for training system applications, providing guidance across all supported organizations
  • Analyze system problems and recommend enhancements to improve training effectiveness and system performance
  • Perform technical evaluations of systems, including loading libraries, restoring data, validating configurations, and maintaining documentation
  • Provide system, database, and network administration support, including server builds, database resets, account management, VLAN configuration, and system imaging
  • Maintain and support standalone, web-based, and internal network systems across Army Sustainment University and associated schools (OD, QM, TC)
  • Conduct site and system analysis to assess infrastructure requirements (power, networking, environmental controls, hardware configurations)
  • Support training system lifecycle management, including setup, reconfiguration, and sustainment of legacy and non-program-of-record systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, software, database, and LAN issues, ensuring minimal disruption to training operations
  • Respond to system problem reports, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and validate solutions
  • Evaluate proposed system and procedural changes, recommending optimal technical approaches
  • Support hardware maintenance and repair for systems including Dell and HP platforms
  • Ensure all systems comply with DoD, Army, NETCOM, T2COM, and CASCOM policies and standards
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field of study, or five (5) years related experience for the Server Administrator position.
  • Eight (8) or more years related experience for the IT Tech IV position.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience supporting a Microsoft Windows-based environment in an IT Tech IV position.
  • SA-Minimum of five (5) years' experience supporting Microsoft, Solaris, or other server-based environment in a Server/Systems Administrator position.
  • Experience deploying Microsoft Windows systems.
  • SA-Minimum of three (3) or more years of specialized experience working with Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA), Share Point, SQL Server 2019, and Active Directory planning and implementation.
  • Experience in DoD architectures and communications initiatives such as tactical networks, and commercial satellite communications, LAN, systems administration, configuration management tools and techniques, and the knowledge and experience setting up and managing software testing labs.
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
    (OR equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Security+ (IAT II) required
