About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer's (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Manager, Reporting and Analytics Technology Administration, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational reporting and visualization technology solutions to the University.

Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University's administrative management and student systems. You will work in cross-functional teams with developers, analysts and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile development processes. Specifically, you will be the business analyst and project coordinator for an enterprise-wide IT initiative where you will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support. You will assist in the overall coordination of the project as well as communicate and present updates to all levels of business stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements from a range of stakeholders and assisting with prioritization of requirements
  • Project coordination tasks including working on and identifying; project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business and technical systems
  • Developing task schedules in concert with project schedules
  • Scheduling and assigning work to a small group in a limited area


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years working with enterprise level IT systems
  • Minimum five years working as a business analyst on IT projects performing requirements gathering, analysis and testing
  • Minimum five years coordinating project work in support of IT projects
  • Experience with the use of business analysis practices and tools (e.g. MS excel pivot tables, MS Visio, LucidChart, Power BI, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts.
  • Strong organization skills; able to handle competing priorities and deadlines.


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Certification in Business Analysis

  • Experience working with, and reporting from, a data mart or data lake
