Position SummaryC5T is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support Department of Defense information systems by implementing cybersecurity controls, hardening operating environments, managing vulnerabilities, and engineering secure technical solutions. This position serves as a key member of the cybersecurity engineering team responsible for implementing security controls, supporting Risk Management Framework activities, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and National Institute of Standards and Technology cybersecurity standards.
Location: Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Work will primarily take place in government workspaces with limited telework based on mission requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and document Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configurations across assigned systems and platforms.
- Conduct Security Impact Analyses (SIAs) for proposed system changes.
- Execute automated configuration validation using the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker.
- Manage vulnerability identification, tracking, and remediation using Tenable Security Center or equivalent tools.
- Assess cloud infrastructure security posture using Tenable Cloud Security or comparable solutions.
- Support CyberArk Privileged Access Management (PAM) implementation and administration.
- Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines and technical implementation guides.
- Support the Cybersecurity Architect with technical security implementations and engineering activities.
- Participate in security testing, audits, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Develop technical documentation supporting cybersecurity compliance.
- Ensure assigned systems comply with Department of Defense cybersecurity policies and National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-53 Revision 5.
Required Qualifications- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Three to five years of experience in security engineering, system hardening, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Security Technical Implementation Guide Viewer and the Security Content Automation Protocol Compliance Checker.
- Experience with Tenable Security Center or equivalent vulnerability management solutions.
- Knowledge of secure configuration management principles.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
Desired Qualifications- Experience administering CyberArk Privileged Access Management solutions.
- Familiarity with Tenable Cloud Security or equivalent cloud assessment tools.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense cloud environments at Impact Levels 2 through 6.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or other Department of Defense 8140-approved cybersecurity certification.
- Experience supporting mission-critical Department of Defense information systems.
