POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Shields Point, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opprotunity for an Information Security Support Specialist-Mid Level in Vienna, VA. The Information Security Support Specialist-Mid Level will own control and accountability of classified documents up to the TS/SCI level, serves as Information Security and document inspector verifying FinCEN staff compliance with applicable security directives, supports accreditation reviews and risk assessments, provides findings and recommendations on lost or compromised classified information investigations, and supports the OPSEC (NSPM-28) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) programs.
  • Serve as an Information Security subject matter expert providing technical expertise and interpret security policy guidance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining current classified information security systems and provide expert advice to account holders in addressing relevant Information Security issues.
  • Monitor FinCEN programs to enhance security control measures to ensure control and accountability of classified documents up to the TS/SCI level.
  • Identify, automate, and document key Information Security and related processes.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding reproduction, access, and distribution of classified documents through an information technology-based system and traditional courier and postal methods.
  • Assist in reviewing accreditation requirements, risk assessments, and vulnerabilities and assist customers converting to risk management framework.
  • Serve as an Information Security and document inspector verifying that FinCEN staff comply with applicable security directives; perform, document, and make recommendations for inspection deficiencies of scheduled and unscheduled inspection of accounts, documents, and other classified information.
  • Review and provide findings and recommendations into investigations on lost or compromised classified information that occurred.
  • Assist with the roles and responsibilities of the National Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Office, as described in NSPM-28; assist with the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program.
  • Support special projects, as required.
  • Assist with development, update, and implementation of SOPs, training aids, guidance, policies, and directives based on current EOs, ICDs, SEADs, Treasury, and internal FinCEN policy; generate administrative correspondence (reports, memoranda, letters, spreadsheets, forms); maintain files; escort security vendors as necessary.
  • Update internal databases - SIMS, shared drives/folders, SharePoint, Clearance Tracker, Lenel, TRAKA, and USAccess (HSPD-12); provide training and briefings in the assigned area of expertise; support safety and emergency preparedness (evacuations, fire drills, shelter in place, COOP); provide a bi-weekly office metrics report to the COR.

Pay Range: $123,000 to $136,500 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in the Physical Security and Information Security disciplines (i.e. technical, physical, derivative classification, operational or signal security; counterintelligence; antiterrorism; counterterrorism; counter-surveillance or surveillance detection; infrastructure protection; force protection; technology protection; industrial security programs; Emergency Management; COOP; Safety and Investigations programs).
  • Experience maintaining accountability of classified document and equipment holdings.
  • Experience reviewing documents for appropriate markings, classification determinations, and declassification.
  • Working knowledge of implementing government security programs and policies.
  • Solid and proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3-5 years (Mid) of specialized experience in the aforementioned areas of Information Security with increasing responsibility and complexity.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English; basic computer skills; basic experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a final Top Secret personnel security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Interim clearances of any type will not be accepted.

Preferred Certifications & Education:
  • Experience with Controlled Unclassified Information requirements.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree.
