We are currently looking for a highly motivated security engineer leader with expertise in Cloud and Infrastructure security to join our team. As a key member of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's (OCI) Security Organization, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the cloud and broader enterprise from adversaries and insider threats. As our team continues to grow and expand into ambitious new initiatives, we seek a Senior Director as a leader in the Foundational Security program. In this highly visible role within OCI Security, you will lead teams of engineers and security experts to identify, assess, and drive security testing, monitoring and innovation. You will partner closely with Cloud Security leadership and collaborate across OCI and broader Oracle business operations and leadership teams to drive operational excellence, security communications, and technical solutions.

You should be a security-minded leader who can work with architects and development teams as they design new capabilities and maintain security operations to ensure the OCI and Infrastructure security bars are continually raising. You should have experience in security testing, from red team exercises to penetration testing. As a leader of security engineering, you will be required to have a firm grasp on security technologies, trends in cloud security practices, and ability to communicate complex technical security requirements clearly to the development teams, risk assessment, risk mitigation and security tools/automation.

Success in this role requires a results-driven, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and the ability to influence and engage with senior security and technology leaders and their operations teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in business operations within a technology-driven environment, exceptional program management skills, and a proven ability to execute high-impact initiatives at scale. Strong executive communication, stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and business analytics capabilities are essential to thrive in this role. You'll have expertise and passion in building out teams and platforms to solve difficult security problems in distributed systems, multi-tenant services and large-scale infrastructures. This is a high-impact, strategic position that offers the opportunity to shape the future of OCI and make a lasting impact across the cloud security ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Manages teams that maintain and/or implement information security policies and procedures.
  • Security Management: Manages the development, deployment and execution of controls and defenses to ensure the security and risk mitigation of company infrastructure technology and information systems.
  • Defines Business Objectives: Identifies security architecture, goals, objectives and metrics; analyzes business needs and priorities for protection of critical systems.
  • Building Security Programs: Build next-generation security programs and assurance, e.g. threat and vulnerabilities management, incident response management, management of forensic investigations.
  • Incident Response: Evaluates potential business impacts from security breaches and provides strategic and tactical guidance to business decision-makers.
  • Compliance: Develops and executes security systems compliance policies and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Security Deep Dive: Investigate the security posture, controls, and risks associated with complex architectures and lifecycle management.
  • Security Innovation: Drive security innovation across legacy and nascent product and cloud services.
  • Program & Project Management: Lead and oversee multiple complex, global cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring effective prioritization, resource allocation, and execution within defined timelines.
  • Metrics & Performance Tracking: Develop and implement value-based metrics to measure the effectiveness of cybersecurity programs, continuously refining KPIs to drive business impact.
  • Process Design & Optimization: Architect, implement, and enhance security-related business processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Business Operations Execution: Drive critical business operations activities, including workforce planning, efficiency tracking, capacity management, and executive reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze and interpret complex datasets using Excel, Power BI, Python, or other analytics tools to identify trends, generate insights, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Global Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish strong relationships with cross-functional partners and senior leadership to align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate clear, concise communication across teams, ensuring alignment on key priorities and enabling effective decision-making at all levels.
  • Executive Reporting & Presentations: Develop high-impact reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for senior leadership, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and strategic insight.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Define project requirements, establish roadmaps, and manage execution for complex cybersecurity programs, balancing long-term strategy with immediate business needs.
  • Issue & Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and blockers, ensuring continued progress toward cybersecurity and operational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement & Agility: Maintain a bias for action, iterating and refining processes to enhance efficiency, reduce operational bottlenecks, and support evolving business needs.
  • Business Documentation & Knowledge Management: Create and maintain structured documentation, templates, and operational artifacts to support collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Security Program Oversight: Oversee multiple security initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational security objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Leverage data-driven methodologies to solve complex business and technical challenges, optimizing cybersecurity operations for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • AI Enablement: Help innovate and drive AI capabilities to streamline operations and create security insights.
  • Security Tooling: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security tooling, CI/CD pipelines and tools, ensuring alignment with OCI's cloud strategy and compliance requirements.
  • Industry Policies: Partner with stakeholders to define and implement policies that align with industry best practices and compliance standards.
  • Security by Default: Implement closed-loop mechanisms to continuously improve security by default.
  • Emerging Security Trends: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating new software solutions to strengthen risk reduction strategies.
  • Security Mentoring: Guide and mentor junior security team members.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
