General Summary: The Information Security Analyst serves as a primary hands-on security practitioner for the College and supports the day-to-day administration of the College's information security operations. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents; supporting endpoint protection and monitoring capabilities; assisting with third-party risk reviews and audit activity; and helping maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of College systems and data.
This position is an in-person, on-campus position. Regular and reliable on-site presence is an essential requirement of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities:Security Operations:- Manage and resolve issues within XDR and security monitoring platforms.
- Administer endpoint protection platforms including Sophos.
- Provide monitoring, alerting, and reporting of enterprise security systems.
- Assist in incident detection, investigation, and response.
- Assist in reviewing, updating and maintaining security policies and procedures
- Help translate policy into technical controls and operational practices
- Support documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Work with Systems team to enforce security policies.
- Work with Systems team in reviewing backup integrity and restore testing
- Support validation of incident recovery procedures
- Support network security initiatives including firewall, VPN, and encryption.
Compliance, Risk, and Audit Support:- Co-review vendor risk assessments and SOC reports.
- Maintain documentation of third-party security materials.
- Assist with audits and act as secondary contact for external entities.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements.
Vulnerability management Lifecycle:- Assist in vulnerability management review (e.g. Qualys reports)
- Track remediation timelines and report on ageing vulnerabilities
- Coordinate with systems team on patching and remediation validation
Program Support and Awareness:- Assist in maintaining the information security program.
- Support security awareness and phishing campaigns.
- Prepare reports and risk summaries.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments.
- Assist in defining and refining logging requirements and alerting thresholds
- Validate that critical systems and logging appropriately and centrally monitored
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of relevant IT or security experience.
- Knowledge of endpoint security and monitoring.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security certifications such as Security+ or SSCP.
- Experience with XDR, SIEM, or endpoint tools.
- Knowledge of GLBA, FERPA, and NIST.
- Higher education IT experience preferred.

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed. This position is an in-person position and requires regular, on-site presence at the College. This position is not eligible for a regular remote or hybrid work arrangement.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; schedule to be determined upon hire. The College offers flexible scheduling through its Flex Work Program, which allows eligible employees, with appropriate approval, to extend work hours on certain days to reduce or eliminate scheduled hours on another day.
