Information Operations (IO) SpecialistPrimary Location: USMC MAGTF Integrated Systems Training Center (MISTC) - Site TBDClearance: Secret (Top Secret/SCI preferred for intelligence or cyber integration roles)Ability to work remotely: NoJob SummaryThe Information Operations (IO) Specialist provides subject matter expertise in the planning, integration, and execution of information-related capabilities (IRCs) within the USMC Combat Operations Center training environment. This role supports classroom instruction, field training, and exercise execution with an emphasis on Multi-Domain Operations, synthesizing operational, intelligence, cyber, and influence information into planning and training scenarios. The IO Specialist advises commanders, staffs, and training audiences across fires, intelligence, cyber, C2, and public affairs communities, ensuring MAGTF operations training reflects current joint and Marine Corps IO doctrine and standards.
Specific Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise in information operations planning and execution in support of COC, TOC, and JOC training events and exercises.
- Synthesize operational, intelligence, cyber, and influence information into planning and training scenarios with an emphasis on Multi-Domain Operations.
- Support classroom training, field training, and exercise execution in the integration of information-related capabilities (IRCs) across PSYOP, Civil-Military Operations, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Operations, and Public Affairs disciplines.
- Advise and brief commanders, staffs, and training audiences on IO planning, integration, and execution within MAGTF operations.
- Coordinate across fires, intelligence, cyber, C2, and public affairs communities in the training environment to support cross-functional IO integration.
- Provide technical and operational recommendations for integrating information operations into training environments and exercise scenarios.
- Conduct and support after-action reviews (AARs), providing recommendations for curriculum refinement and POI updates.
- Support the development of IO-related training support packages, exercise scenarios, and doctrinal documentation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Operations, Strategic Communications, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, International Relations, or related field preferred. Equivalent military training in Information Operations, Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, or Cyber Operations may substitute for degree requirements.
- Prior U.S. military service or DoD civilian/contractor experience in information operations, intelligence, electronic warfare, or cyber-related specialties highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Combat Operations Center (COC), Tactical Operations Center (TOC), or Joint Operations Center (JOC) operations.
- Familiarity with MAGTF operations, the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), and integration of information-related capabilities (IRCs) into training and operational planning.
- Hands-on expertise with IO planning and execution across disciplines such as PSYOP, Civil-Military Operations, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Operations, and Public Affairs.
- Experience supporting classroom instruction, field training, and exercise execution including system setup, training support, and after-action reviews (AARs).
- Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills to advise commanders, staffs, and training audiences.
- Certifications Required: CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570 baseline certification for system/network access). Preferred: CompTIA Network+ or CySA+, Joint IO Planner Course or JIOWC training, service-specific IO specialty qualification (e.g., Army FA30 Information Operations or Marine IO certification), ITIL v4 Foundation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred for intelligence or cyber integration roles).
- Ability to work collaboratively across fires, intelligence, cyber, C2, and public affairs communities in a training environment.
- Flexibility to support field exercises, extended hours, and travel as required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment- Garrison and field/tactical work environment.
- Occasional extended working hours will be required during training events and exercises.
- Schedule: M-F normal business hours; reverse or extended operations may occur based on exercise requirements.
Travel- Travel to distributed MISTCs and exercise sites as mission requires.
- Domestic travel up to 25%; OCONUS travel possible based on program requirements.
