Summary: The Informatics Clinical Coordinator, Acute care, is a pharmacy specialist with expertise in clinical informatics who leads the design, optimization, validation, and governance of clinical decision support (CDS) and medication-related clinical content across Epic and related systems. The role partners closely with pharmacy and clinical leaders to develop evidence-based, standardized, and operationally effective workflows that support safe and efficient medication use across the system. The informatics clinical coordinator serves as a key liaison between Pharmacy, Digital & Information Services, and clinical stakeholders. This role advances system-wide informatics strategies and promotes consistent, high-quality technology-enabled care delivery.
Responsibilities:- Evaluates clinical content for appropriateness and usability, addresses alert fatigue and workflow burden, and ensures alignment with regulatory, safety, and organizational priorities.
- Lead the design, build, testing and implementation of CDS, smart rules, and medication workflows for acute care.
- Monitor performance of CDS (accuracy, override rates) and recommend improvements to reduce alert fatigue while preserving patient and medication safety.
- Oversee ticket triage and escalation processes for acute care; maintain clear documentation and communication.
- Partner with D&IS leads to triage, prioritize and resolve clinical content issues
- Monitor acute care metrics for safety, quality and operational performance, report trends to the System Director.
- Document build decisions, rationales and rollback plans.
- Map current-state workflows; recommend standardization for future state processes that reduce variation and handoffs.
- Support standardization efforts across sites to reduce variability and improve efficiency.
- Provide training and tip sheets for clinicians; support go-lives and upgrades
- Provide mentorship to the team and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Other Information Required Job Qualifications: - PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience (minimally 3 years)
- Eligible for and achievement of Board Certification within 2 years of hire
- License-Pharmacist-March 31 (even yr)
