Sign-On Bonus of 5K!!!Edgehill, premier CCRC in Stamford, CT, is seeking an Infection Preventionist for our Boutique Skilled Nursing neighborhood, with an average census of 40 residents, luxury amenities, high RN, LPN and CNA staffing ratio (best in class) and full administrative support staff.
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the facility infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern such programs and as directed by the Administrator and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this key position, essential job duties and responsibilities include:
- Plan, develop, implement, and oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program in accordance with current regulations and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities
- Establish and maintain infection surveillance program
- Accountable for surveillance of healthcare acquired and community acquired infections.
- Assist with Environmental Rounds
- Review, summarize and report data such as Antibiotic Stewardship, facility acquired infections, outbreaks to the Infection Prevention and Control Committee
- Oversee vaccines/immunization programs
- Conduct investigation pertaining to new or significant trends or communicable diseases
- Completes reporting to all local, state, and federal entities
- Participates in the national collaboratives and external reporting to CDC NHSN system, and other post-acute-care specific quality organizations
- Authority and responsibility for ensuring appropriate intervention and education occurs with staff, volunteers, and medical staff when healthcare infection trends, outbreaks or non-compliance to infection control/OSHA are identified.
- Ensures that education and counseling on infection prevention is available for staff, volunteers, medical staff, patients, and parents.
- Support and participate in interdisciplinary performance and quality improvement process.
- Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensures that the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues. Understands and complies with infection control, safety and OSHA procedures and regulations
- Report all reportable diseases to the local and state health departments
- Serve on IPCC and QAPI meetings as requested or indicated
- Assist and oversee the tracking, administration and record keeping of required employee immunizations and recommended resident immunizations
- Review and analyze infectious laboratory reports and consult with DNS in developing the care plan for appropriate transmission-based precautions in indicate
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATion
- RN
- Specialty training in Infection Prevention and Control through accredited continuing education
- Infection Prevention Certification required
