Industrial Mechanical HVAC Technician

Location: Skokie, IL
Compensation: $40-$55/hour DOE
Full-Time | Year-Round Employment

Are you a highly skilled Mechanical HVAC Technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems on large commercial and industrial equipment? Do you have extensive experience with boilers, chillers, RTUs, hydronic systems, pumps, and central plant equipment?

We're looking for an experienced Industrial Mechanical HVAC Technician to join our team servicing healthcare facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, medical campuses, and other mission-critical commercial buildings throughout the Chicagoland area.

This is not residential work. You'll be working on sophisticated mechanical systems where your troubleshooting skills, technical expertise, and professionalism make a real impact every day.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and service heavy commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting on boilers, chillers, RTUs, air handlers, hydronic systems, pumps, cooling towers, and associated mechanical equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on mission-critical HVAC systems
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, piping schematics, mechanical drawings, and sequence of operations
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical control systems
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and provide long-term repair solutions
  • Complete detailed service documentation and communicate findings with customers
  • Work safely while maintaining exceptional workmanship and customer service
  • Mentor less experienced technicians as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience
  • Extensive experience servicing boilers, chillers, RTUs, and large mechanical HVAC systems
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on complex mechanical equipment
  • Experience working in healthcare, hospitals, nursing homes, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, universities, or institutional buildings
  • Working knowledge of hydronic systems, pumps, VFDs, cooling towers, and commercial control systems
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
