The
Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the care, maintenance, and continued operability of the facility and all associated equipment while adhering to quality specifications, federal regulations, and company policies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Available Shift: Third Shift (Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Pay: $43.26 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.
What you'll be doing.- Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.
- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and accurate documentation of maintenance activities using company software systems.
- Coordinate daily assignments and maintenance priorities with the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Lead.
- Communicate equipment concerns, repair needs, and maintenance updates to supervisors and team members using radio and digital communication tools.
- Procure and organize necessary repair parts and maintenance materials to support equipment reliability.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner while supporting plant uptime, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, quality, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment while maintaining a positive and safety-focused mindset.
This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration. The position requires prolonged standing and walking, frequent climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, and the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks throughout the shift.
What you'll need to be successful.- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical degree, Associate degree, and/or Journeyman license required.*
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance role required.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- *In lieu of a technical degree and/or Journeyman license, candidates must possess a minimum of 15 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, robotics, and automated equipment.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, metal fabrication, and basic machining practices.
- Experience operating machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, shears, brakes, and ironworker equipment preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, equipment, and processes quickly.
- Comfortable using digital tools, maintenance software, and electronic documentation systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions in English.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, product quality, and accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to changing priorities and operational needs.
- Physically capable of performing all essential job functions in a manufacturing environment.
About the team.The Industrial Mechanic is part of the Maintenance team and works closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Leads, Production teams, and Operations personnel to ensure equipment reliability and plant performance. This team is responsible for maintaining critical production assets, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of plant facilities.
Compensation Package : - Starting at 43.26 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
