Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective utilization of maintenance personnel and resources to support all manufacturing operations. Success in this role requires a strong focus on safety, electro-mechanical expertise, GMP compliance, problem-solving, and positive employee relations.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute maintenance plans in accordance with work schedules
  • Perform and oversee mechanical, electrical, pipefitting, and rigging work
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and drive root cause analysis
  • Maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds
  • Read and interpret prints, diagrams, specifications, and repair instructions
  • Coordinate emergency and scheduled repairs, including material procurement
  • Manage spare parts purchasing through the PO system
  • Maintain preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime
  • Supervise and prioritize shift activities to optimize workforce efficiency
  • Assign tasks based on employee skills, experience, and training, retention, development, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel to enhance technical proficiency
  • Foster a positive work environment through strong communication, engagement, and morale-building
  • Reinforce safe and high-quality performance through recognition and feedback
  • Document and address performance issues as needed
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses and ensure full compliance with safety regulations and occupational health standards
  • Drive and model safety, GMP, environmental, and housekeeping standards
  • Identify and eliminate safety, environmental, and operational hazards
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped to perform work safely
  • Provide and maintain tools, equipment, and resources in safe working condition
  • Analyze maintenance performance and implement efficiency improvements
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements
  • Ensure adherence to corporate and local policies and operational standards
  • Track and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) for the shift/area
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and other required reports
  • Collaborate with facility management to improve safety, quality, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness
  • Work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, holidays and on call


Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Experience
  • 5-7 years of technical maintenance experience, preferably in food processing, packaging, or food safety environments
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Experience with M3 or similar systems

Additional Information

Physical: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, walk and stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights all within a manufacturing environment. Perform work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to noise, dust, weather, and potential hazards

Must possess appropriate sensory awareness (sight, hearing, touch, etc.) to respond to plant conditions, including alarms and environmental changes.

Must consent and pass background check and drug screen.

Pay Range: $83,720 - 104,640
