Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Professional to support occupational health and industrial hygiene programs across manufacturing and support operations. This position serves as the technical and operational program owner for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program and acts as the primary Industrial Hygiene point of contact for assigned departments.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in hazard assessment, exposure control, personal protective equipment selection, regulatory compliance, employee health protection, expense management, and industrial hygiene program implementation. This role collaborates with operational teams, engineering groups, contractors, vendors, and EHS professionals to identify workplace hazards, evaluate risks, implement effective controls, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

This position reports to the Occupational Health Manager and coordinates activities with contracted PPE service providers, vendor-managed inventory personnel, and cross-functional stakeholders to support employee health and safety objectives.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

Personal Protective Equipment Program Ownership
  • Serve as the technical owner and administrator of the site's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program.
  • Maintain and continuously improve PPE program requirements, procedures, standards, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct and document PPE hazard assessments to determine appropriate protective equipment requirements.
  • Evaluate and approve PPE selections based on workplace hazards, regulatory requirements, consensus standards, and operational needs.
  • Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities to improve PPE effectiveness, compliance, and user acceptance.
  • Manage PPE program metrics, audits, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities of contracted PPE service providers and vendor-managed inventory personnel.
  • Support evaluation, testing, and implementation of new PPE technologies and products.
  • Provide technical guidance to operations, engineering, maintenance, and contractor organizations regarding PPE requirements and exposure controls.
  • Interpret and apply applicable OSHA regulations, consensus standards, and company requirements related to the PPE program.
  • Develop and deliver training related to PPE requirements, hazard recognition, and exposure control measures.
  • Maintain program records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Analyze program performance metrics and develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Develop corrective action plans and track closure of identified findings.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and support implementation of innovative occupational health and industrial hygiene solutions.

Industrial Hygiene Support
  • Serve as the primary Industrial Hygiene point of contact for assigned departments and business units.
  • Provide technical consultation regarding chemical, physical, and biological workplace hazards.
  • Support industrial hygiene exposure assessment activities, including workplace evaluations, hazard assessments, and exposure characterization efforts.
  • Assist with implementation of exposure control strategies utilizing the hierarchy of controls.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene program audits.
  • Participate in incident investigations involving occupational exposure concerns.
  • Review operational changes, equipment installations, and capital projects to identify potential occupational health risks and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Support site occupational health initiatives through collaboration with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene sampling strategies, exposure monitoring activities, and data analysis as required.

Budget, Vendor, and Contract Management
  • Manage and administer annual operating budgets associated with PPE and occupational health programs, including oversight of multiple budget line items and vendors.
  • Develop annual budget forecasts, spending plans, and cost projections to support operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze spending trends, and identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, and contract performance for PPE-related products and services.
  • Coordinate and oversee contracted PPE vendor-managed inventory (VMI) personnel and service providers to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations, service-level expectations, and program objectives.
  • Review, approve, and reconcile invoices, purchase requests, purchase orders, and budget expenditures in accordance with company financial processes.
  • Partner with procurement, finance, operations, and vendor representatives to support sourcing activities, contract renewals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators related to cost, inventory utilization, service delivery, and program effectiveness.
  • Lead cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives while ensuring appropriate employee protection and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide routine budget performance updates, financial analyses, and strategic recommendations to management regarding program expenditures and future resource needs.


Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:
  • A minimum three (3) years of experience supporting occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety, manufacturing operations, or related technical programs.
  • Experience administering workplace safety, health, industrial hygiene, or compliance programs. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational health principles.
  • Ability to effectively manage contractor, vendor, and service provider relationships and performance.
  • Experience supporting budget administration, procurement activities, or contract management.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Experience conducting PPE hazard assessments and implementing PPE programs.
  • Experience supporting exposure assessment, hazard evaluation, and occupational health initiatives.
  • Experience managing operational budgets, contracts, or service agreements.
  • Experience overseeing vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs or large-scale PPE distribution systems.
  • Experience with industrial hygiene sampling equipment, exposure monitoring programs, and occupational health data management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial management, and decision-making skills.


The current base salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $107,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
