Location: St. Petersburg, FL (16th Street)JOB SUMMARYIndustrial Engineer III will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing; integrated, production and service delivery systems that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production site. The Industrial Engineer III will adopt as its goals profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Project leader - lead and implement projects that will eliminate waste, through the standard Industrial Engineering process
o This will include but is not limited to: Complex Process Simulation, Operations Research and Business Model Cost Analysis
• Verify Time standards prepared within IE Team
• Update and report key Industrial Engineering metrics for assigned customer or area
• Drive key process mapping activities within the assigned customer or area
• Drive the standardization SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations
• Prepare quotes for proposed projects within the assigned customer or area
• Drive process related activities for New Product Introduction.
• Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Industrial Engineering team
• Support and/or maintain all lower level Industrial Engineering essential duties and responsibilities
• Insure the standardization of Jabil processes throughout the site in accordance with the global, regional and site direction
• Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS• Key Requirements:
o Understanding and application of broad range of industrial engineering tools (ie. Work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research, etc.)
o Understanding of Jabil's global strategies and direction
o Understanding of site's facilities, capabilities and how they tie back to the Jabil strategies and direction
o Strong financial and analytical ability
o Proven record of accomplishment of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous improvements and cost reduction programs
o Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD skills required.
ADDITIONAL SITE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Jabil 16th St)
- Ability to manage variability in demand, product mix, and routing complexity
- Ability to extract, validate, and interpret production data to drive decisions
- Understanding of how test processes impact capacity, flow, and cycle time
- Experience working closely with ME, TE, QE, and Operations to resolve real-time issues
- Not just reporting metrics - driving decisions and implementation
- Ability to clearly communicate capacity, efficiency, and improvement plans to internal and external stakeholders
- Drive takt alignment, line balancing, and headcount optimization across high-mix / low-to-medium volume builds
- Ensure alignment between IE standards, actual floor performance, and customer commit (UPH, OEE, cycle time)
- Develop and validate process flows, line layouts, and capacity models for new builds
- Ensure readiness for ramp (tools, fixtures, labor standards, layouts) prior to build start
- Support DFM/DFA discussions with ME/TE/QE and customer teams
- Identify bottlenecks using data (MES, SAP, manual studies) and implement improvements
- Partner with Test Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to reduce test and process cycle times
- Lead structured problem-solving (RCA, Pareto, time studies)
- Define and track line readiness, staffing models, and expected vs. actual performance during validation
- Ensure proper data collection (cycle time, yield impact, rework loops) to feed into product/process decisions
- Maintain and validate labor standards against real production conditions
- Drive opportunities to reduce indirect labor, improve operator utilization, and optimize staffing models
- Actively support RCCA activities tied to capacity shortfalls, delivery misses, or inefficiencies
- Provide data-driven insights during internal and customer-facing reviews
- Ensure consistency in time studies, line layouts, process maps, and capacity models across the site
- Drive adherence to global IE standards while adapting to site-specific needs
- Develop accurate labor and cycle time assumptions based on actual 16th St capabilities
- Partner with program and finance teams to ensure quoted models reflect floor realities
