Position Overview

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Planning team at our Lewiston, Maine facility.

This role is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency, optimizing production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. The Industrial Engineer will analyze workflows, identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve throughput, implement process improvements, and collaborate across departments to enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance
• Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to optimize labor and equipment utilization
• Support production layout improvements, standard work development, and manufacturing process documentation
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Support capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and manufacturing automation initiatives
• Analyze production data and develop performance metrics to support operational decision-making
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities to improve product quality and process reliability

Ideal Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 2-5 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience preferred
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data and performance metrics
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel; AutoCAD or other CAD software is a plus
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflow optimization, ergonomics, and capacity planning
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining, metals manufacturing, or other advanced manufacturing environments preferred
