Industrial Eng - P4(Sr. Industrial Engineer)Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency. These actions will occur across multiple facets of Boston Scientific's organization including: manufacturing, design, supplier development, documentation, and Boston Scientific suppliers. Projects will incorporate lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods-Time Measurement, or a variety of other systems improvement philosophies. The employee will be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Boston Scientific to ensure project success.
Responsibilities- Analyzes, creates and implements manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, eliminate non-valued added, reduce work in process and improve fill rates
- Completes capacity analyzes internally and/or at suppliers for headcount, equipment and space requirements using simulation software or other effective tools..
- Designs, implements and maintains effective metrics with internal customers or suppliers to ensure unbridled supply is achieved.
- Participates as a core member in cross-functional teams to quickly troubleshoot and eliminate product supply issues internally or at suppliers.
- Makes recommendations to design teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products. May use financial analyses tool and recommend alternative courses of action
- Convinces internal customer or suppliers to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes so that unbridled supply can be achieved.
- Develops and coordinates ergonomic projects.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering required.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on productivity enhancement, labor optimization, waste reduction, capacity expansion, quality improvement, and cost savings.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in line balancing, capacity analysis, labor utilization analysis, ergonomic risk assessments, time studies, predetermined time systems (MTM, MOST or equivalent), and standardized work.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and eliminate manufacturing waste using Lean Manufacturing principles, including value stream mapping, Kaizen facilitation, root cause problem solving, and process optimization.
- Experience developing and executing projects that deliver measurable labor productivity improvements, cost reduction, and operational efficiency gains.
- Experience supporting manufacturing layout design, workflow optimization, and facility expansion initiatives.
- Proven experience facilitating Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and cross-functional continuous improvement teams.
- Layout design experience: proficiency with AutoCAD software required.
- Strong project management, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs related to Lean Manufacturing, waste elimination, standardized work, and operational excellence principles.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, operational excellence, accountability, and employee engagement across all organizational levels.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with labor standards development, workforce planning, and direct/indirect labor optimization.
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish), with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
