The Opportunity: As part of Maple Leaf Foods' Maintenance Team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. In doing so, they will support safe plant operations, uphold a safe working environment for all team members, and ensure equipment and processes align with our commitment to animal welfare standards.
Our Electrician rate is $46.81/hour, with an additional premium of $0.70/hour for the night shift.

- Red Seal Electrician Certification (required)
- Must have own hand tools
- Strong knowledge of plant and equipment operations

A Snapshot of Some of the Exciting Things You Will Lead and Do: - Troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems, to ensure efficient and timely resolution of issues
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, temperature sensors, and safety devices
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems ranging from 24V to 575V (including 3-phase), with a strong understanding of field wiring up to 600V AC
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic/flow diagrams to support troubleshooting and system improvements Apply working knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and PLC systems to maintain and optimize equipment performance
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders, accurately tracking labour, parts, and inventory within a computerized maintenance system
- Respond to verbal, written, and electronic work requests, applying corrective actions in a timely and effective manner
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to support integrated electrical and equipment troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate records, including notes, labour hours, and parts usage in SAP or equivalent systems
- Communicate daily repair activities and equipment status with Maintenance, Production, and cross-functional teams
