Job Title: Electrical Technician
Location: Mt. Vernon, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Must be available for shift work, weekends, and overtime as required
Pay Rate: $38.95/hr.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for systematic troubleshooting, accurate diagnosis of equipment issues, and the execution of sustainable, high-quality repairs on highly automated production equipment. Your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical control systems, including PLCs, IPCs, and field devices
  • Perform quality repairs to motors, drives, and servo systems
  • Diagnose issues using schematics, digital multimeters, and specialized software tools
  • Replace defective components and verify systems functionality
  • Track repair work and time using SAP-PM and iPad software
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with production, engineering, and maintenance teams
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE protocols to ensure a safe work environment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot power and lighting transformers
  • Support computer/IPC hardware repair and software backup procedures
  • Assist in maintaining technical documentation and engineering web pages
  • Support supervisors in daily operations and assist with vacancy coverage as needed
  • Keep a clean, organized, and professional workspace
Qualifications

Education & Experience (one of the following):

  • Associate's degree in an electrical field, or
  • Certificate in an electrical field*
  • 3+ years of relevant electrical experience*

*Applicants without an Associate's degree must pass a technical proficiency test.

Preferred Experience:

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, IPCs, analog I/O, AC & DC drives, and servo systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and general computer literacy
