This position reports to:
Sales Leader - EPC & Named End User Accounts

Your role and responsibilities:

The Industrial Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies for regional Industrial Accounts. This role leads account planning, builds multi-level customer relationships, owns conversion of major project opportunities and builds technical credibility with assigned accounts. Coordinates across internal functions to drive a positive customer experience and positions ABB as a trusted partner for solving complex business and operational challenges.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Houston, TX office.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Division in the United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans by analyzing customer business drivers, risks, and opportunities, creating actionable growth strategies, and leading account reviews, forecasting, and executive presentations.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level customer relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, understanding technical and operational challenges, and clearly articulating the business value of ABB's solutions.
  • Drive profitable sales growth and opportunity conversion through account penetration, pipeline management, contract negotiations, bid responses, and ownership of revenue targets and order attainment.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and customer advocacy by aligning internal teams, channel partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues, support customer needs, and ensure successful execution of account strategies.


Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. Candidates with no degree and commensurate industrial electrification experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of strategic account management or business development experience in industrial, EPC, energy, manufacturing, or related markets.
  • Familiarity with 3-phase AC Power Systems, including, but not limited to: modular substations, medium and low voltage switchgear, medium and low voltage motor control centers, switchboards, panelboards, and ancillary electrical distribution products.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable growth, developing multi-level relationships, and leading complex customer engagements
  • Strong understanding of electrification, power systems, sustainability, digitalization, and industrial infrastructure trends.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise selling methodologies and long-cycle capital project sales
  • Ability to translate customer business objectives into actionable growth initiatives for both the customer and ABB
  • Strong ability to influence, align, and motivate cross-functional teams toward common objectives
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and executive engagement skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%.
