Overview

As a Commodity Specialist, this position will support Sourcing activities related to Professional Services across the North American region and is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for a wide range of services, including Financial, audit, Human resource, legal, consulting and IT. Day-to-day duties include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, monitoring vendor performance, invoice resolution, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and budgetary requirements. The role also involves collaborating with business function managers and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities, support projects, resolve supplier issues, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality services to keep operations running smoothly. The accurate reporting of savings results using the SPOR (Savings Plan of Record) tool is critical. You may partner or drive various risk mitigations plans by qualifying alternative suppliers, and lead presentations to Senior Directors and VPs internally and externally supporting the implementation of sourcing programs in alignment with Global and Regional Commodity Strategies, focused on best pricing and optimal use of the supply base.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

  • Candidates will take regional ownership of the indirect procurement category of spend. They will work directly with internal stakeholders and the global category managers to develop and implement a category strategy using a multitude of tools such as vendor consolidation, Global/Regional RFP’s, pricing analyses and direct negotiation efforts. 
  • Experienced professional with wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues. 
  • Manages supplier relations and escalation issues with site/region specific suppliers. 
  • Participates in Supplier AVL (approved vendor list) development, supplier compliance tracking, supplier business continuity and contract spend management.

What You Bring: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline. 
  • Work Experience: 5+ year’s experience in purchasing, supply chain or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Basic knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing, and contract negotiations. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). 
  • Good oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with good organizational skill. 
  • SAP experienced is a plus.

Location: This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $96,600 to $132,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
