Indirect Category Advisor

What You'll Do

The Indirect Category Advisor is responsible for specific categories within the specified team to include the entire end to end procurement process including sourcing, supplier relationship management and category management. This role will develop global category plans based on current market conditions in coordination with executive engagement owners to align with strategic plans and priorities.

This position is ideal for an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, governance-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities:

Sourcing
  • Lead development of complex sourcing strategies to meet internal stakeholders long term objectives.
  • Bring industry leading Sourcing and procurement practices to execute upon the developed strategies.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives with little assistance including RFPs, RFIs, and direct negotiations across assigned categories.
  • Evaluate bids for the lowest total cost of ownership in coordination with the engagement owner and any applicable risk domain owners.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape category strategies, present business cases and influence key internal stakeholders and senior supplier partners.
  • Lead negotiation for medium to high-risk contracts.
  • Deliver year over year hard savings while working with internal stakeholders to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of legal as well as commercial terms to effectively negotiate and draft contracts to mitigate risk to the organization.

Supplier Relationship Management
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with assigned suppliers and maintain ensure compliance with any SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Escalate vendor performance or risk issues to the Indirect Procurement Manager.

Category Management
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of assigned markets, leading trends, internal/external drivers and keys to success for any managed categories or suppliers to deliver long term value.
  • Knowledge of the category supply base and key drivers for those suppliers
  • Prepare and provide updates to key internal stakeholders and procurement management highlighting key metrics, changes in the market, risk concerns and areas for improvement.


What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or related field. MBA and/or CPM/CPSM preferred.
  • 7-9 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management or related procurement role.
  • Experience leading multi-year and global contracts worth over $1,000,000.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with senior and executive leadership both internal and external.
  • Knowledge of legal as well as commercial terms and conditions with the ability to effectively negotiate and draft legal language to mitigate risk.
  • Must be a results-focused team player and adapt well to a multitasking, fast paced environment with changing priorities and challenges
  • Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Technology, Legal, Finance, and Risk teams.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with procurement or CLM tools (Coupa strongly preferred).
  • Exposure to third-party risk management (TPRM) or security review processes.


The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 plus bonus. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
