The starting salary for this role is $92,000.

About the role:

The Indirect Business Development Manager leads PenAir's indirect lending sales team and dealer relationship strategy. This role is responsible for growing loan production by developing strong partnerships with auto dealers, supporting a team of Business Development Officers, and identifying opportunities to expand PenAir's market presence. The manager works closely with lending and executive leadership to drive growth, improve dealer engagement, and support the credit union's strategic goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop a team of Business Development Officers. Set performance expectations, monitor results, provide coaching and feedback, and support employees in meeting production goals and professional development objectives.
  • Business Growth & Strategic Planning: Identify and implement opportunities to grow indirect lending. Analyze business results, market trends, and dealer performance to recommend improvements, pricing strategies, and growth initiatives.
  • Dealer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective dealer partners. Develop new business opportunities and serve as the primary contact for key dealer account
  • Portfolio Management & Reporting: Monitor and evaluate dealer portfolio performance, business development activities, and team production results. Prepare and present monthly reports, production analyses, dealer scorecards, and business development updates to executive and lending leadership. Ensure timely documentation of dealer contacts and business development efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Lending, Underwriting, Operations, Marketing, and Executive Management to ensure the indirect lending program remains competitive, efficient, and aligned with organizational objectives. Address escalated dealer issues and facilitate effective resolution of service concerns.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

Eight to ten years of progressively responsible lending, indirect lending, business development, or related financial services experience, including leadership or management experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Associate degree in business, management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
