What You Get To Do:

The State Director is responsible for the overall operations administration and growth of services in Indiana. The State Director will have oversight of two (2) Senior Directors and supporting business departments (quality, nursing, business offices, etc).

In this role, the State Director is responsible for:
  • Setting strategic operations and long-term goals for Dungarvin Indiana, aligning with the organization's mission and vision
  • Overseeing fiscal direction, including budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Driving the expansion of existing services and spearheading the development of new lines of business to meet evolving community needs
  • Conducting regular evaluations of programs and services to ensure the highest quality of care for individuals with IDD
  • Serving as an innovative leader of the operational team in Indiana, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Assuring compliance with all applicable rules, standards, and laws, including state and federal regulations governing IDD services
  • Serving as the primary representative of Dungarvin and a liaison between senior administrative staff and funding and oversight authorities
  • Nurturing and developing relationships with potential and existing business partners, including local, state, and Federal legislative and department representatives
  • Engaging with advocacy groups, trade associations, and other stakeholders to promote the interests of individuals with IDD
  • Implementing and overseeing staff development programs to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce
  • Managing risk and crisis situations and developing contingency plans
  • Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in IDD services to maintain a competitive edge
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders within the Dungarvin network to share knowledge, resources, and best practices
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports to senior management on the state's performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth

Additionally, the State Director is responsible for fostering a positive organizational culture that promotes inclusivity, person-centered care, and professional growth for all employees.

Qualifications

What Makes You A Great Fit:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services field required (Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.). Preference to master's degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years senior director level human services industry experience, specific to Developmentally Disabled/Intellectual Disabilities populations.
  • Experience managing day program and/or ICF and/or supported group living programs with the DD/ID population.
  • Must have financial management skills and budget experience of 10 million plus as well as be personally accountable for the P&L.
  • Previous experience with the state of Indiana systems (DDRS)


Additional Information

Other Details:
  • The state director's schedule is Monday- Friday 8:30AM- 5:00PM (FLEX) and should anticipate evening, weekend hours and overnight stays; to meet the needs of subordinates, customers, and external entities, and to achieve organizational outcomes.
  • Travel within the state of Indiana is required with ability to travel one to three times a year outside the state.
