Position SummaryWe are seeking a
mid-level In-House Legal & Compliance Counsel (Americas) with a strong focus on the United States to join our Global Legal & Compliance team.
The successful candidate will act as the primary legal advisor for all legal and compliance matters in the Americas region (excluding labour/employment law and tax law), providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance to support commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Primary legal and compliance contact for all business activities in the Americas region, with a focus on the US
- Legal support for all areas except labor/employment law and tax law
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, including sales, procurement and partnership agreements
- Advising on sales, procurement, operations, product, regulatory, competition, and corporate matters
- Managing and enhancing compliance processes and frameworks, advising on compliance, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, anti-trust, and trade compliance matters, internal policies, and investigations
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting mitigation measures
- Delivering legal and compliance trainings to business stakeholders
- Managing external counsel
- Supporting disputes, strategic projects, reorganizations, and cross-border matters
- Collaborate closely with global Legal & Compliance colleagues to ensure consistent legal standards across regions
- Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic transactions as required
The Background You'll Need- Fully qualified attorney admitted to practice law in the United States (any state bar; OH preferred)
- Minimum 6-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house experience
- Strong background in commercial law and corporate compliance
- Experience working with international companies or cross-border legal matters
- Solid understanding of US regulatory frameworks relevant to the electronics or manufacturing industry is a plus
- Strong business acumen and ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently across time zones and manage multiple stakeholders
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong compliance mindset
- Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international environment
- Fluency in English required; additional languages (especially German) are a plus but not required
