Location Designation: Hybrid - 1 day per quarter
Real estate department of a major insurance company seeks an architectural & engineering or construction management professional to provide in-house expertise to support mortgage lending, investment and development activities in Southeastern US. The professional will be responsible for managing and reviewing external consultants performing physical and environmental due diligence for an active lending and investment platform. The position requires knowledge of design, construction and building systems for investment property types, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects. Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of site & civil conditions, structural systems, building enclosure, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), fire protection, life safety and vertical transportation systems. Additionally, candidate should be familiar with environmental and seismic risk assessment and energy conservation practices as well as LEED and other sustainability designations.
The ideal Candidate should have 8 years of experience in property inspection, cost estimating, design review, and project management. The professional should have experience inspecting and assessing the physical condition and costs for property types including offices, industrial buildings, retail and multifamily. The professional should also understand site and environmental conditions impacting development and use, including seismic risk and resiliency. Responsibilities also include review and recommendations for architectural, engineering and specific design concerns. Prepare written review memorandums and cost & budgeting analysis.
What You'll Do:- Perform Construction Management / Owner's Representative duties on development projects.
- Conduct due diligence, including field inspections, and monitor ongoing projects. Analyze and approve requests for construction progress payments.
- Provide plan, specification, budget and design consulting for new developments and alterations.
- Advise on property conditions as they relate to suitability for investment and collateral.
- Report to Chief Architect and work with other professionals in the Real Estate Investment Group.
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's in architecture and/or Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional License (RA or PE) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of multi-disciplined professional experience including site inspections (some travel required), review of property condition and environmental site assessments, project plan and cost review and construction management.
- Ability to manage multiple time sensitive tasks and work independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
