Lanteris Space Systems is hiring an Import & Export Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and optimizing the movement of goods across global supply chains. This role supports end-to-end logistics operations, including shipping documentation, freight coordination, and regulatory compliance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. This role can be based in the bay area and also performed remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate international inbound and outbound shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, Export Filing (AES), certificates of origin.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, trade laws, and company policies.
  • Classify goods using Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine applicable duties and tariffs.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, customs holds, or logistical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and compliance documentation for auditing purposes.
  • Maintain Temporary Import Bond program by extending TIBs annually and closing files timely.
  • Support the Foreign Trade Zone program by admitting high dutiable items, including maintaining traceability until closure.
  • Manage and communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and requirements.
  • Support trade compliance initiatives, including restricted party screening, export control adherence, and license decrements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline logistics processes
  • Stay current with international trade regulations and industry best practices


Required Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, International Business, Logistics, or related field (four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in import/export, international logistics, or freight forwarding
  • Experience with customs regulations, Incoterms, and international shipping procedures
  • Experience with trade documentation and customs brokerage processes
  • Ability to have flexibility in work hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required to support international operations across multiple time zones. Up to 10% domestic travel may be required to support operations at various U.S. locations.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Customs broker license or certification (e.g., CCS, CES)
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing, specifically aerospace
  • Familiarity with compliance tools for export control and sanctions screening
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $61,000.00 - $101,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $61,000.00 - $101,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $61,000.00 - $101,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $67,000.00 - $111,000.00 annually.• The base pay for this position within California is: $70,000.00 - $116,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
